Happy Thoughts

The title of my blog is called True Bliss, which means true happiness.

I believe taking the time to stop and look at all the little things that made you smile or just generally happy, is valuable. Everyone is so caught up in the moment, that sometimes we don’t give ourselves the chance to reflect back on those acts of happiness.

This past week I gave myself the challenge to write down anything/anyone who made me smile or just generally happy. This gave me the chance to focus on that specific moment of happiness and to understand why it made me happy.

1.  My Grandparents Came Home from Vacation

If you know me personally, you’ll know just how close I am to my grandparents. I visit them as much as I can and love being in their company. So when they came home from their vacation, you could say that it definitely put a smile on my face.

2. Surprise Visit From A Special Somebody

Early last week while at work, I got a surprise visit from a special somebody. (Yes, this person is going to remain anonymous-sorry) They brought myself and a coworker our afternoon caffeine rush and we got to do some catching up. Needless to say, that definitely made me happy.

3. Got Myself Organized

Again, if you know me personally, you know I have the constant need to be organized. I took some time during my day off to do some mental/physical organizing. You could say it was a little bit of ‘spring cleaning’ that was in desperate need.

4. Found A Hair Product That I Cannot Live Without

I have very curly hair and if you are someone who also has curly hair you know the struggle. Living with curly hair is dealing with the constant battle of Frizz. Well, months ago I finally found a product that really works for my hair. I was in need of a new bottle and when I went to go purchase a new one, there was 0 on the shelf. So, I had a little bit of a freak out as I thought that maybe discontinued it. I checked back a few days later and the shelf had been restocked. (Yes!) My hair was really thankful for this one.

5. Finished Another Book

To me reading is an outlet, where I can escape my mind and give myself a break. I set a goal for myself earlier this year to read 15 books by the end of 2017. This past week I was able to finish my 8th book of the year, which made me very happy. If you haven’t already read my post on “Book Challenge 2017” I will link it below for you to check out!

6. Watched A Childhood Movie

Growing up I was a total Disney child lunatic. Especially, when it came time to watch all the Disney princesses movies. One of my best friends and I went out and saw the remake of Beauty & The Beast and it was amazing! I highly recommend it if you haven’t already saw it.

I really believe that it’s the little, simplest things that make me happy in life. I challenge you to give this a try this week or comment below what made you happy last week!

  1. I love what you’re doing, and I can tell that you’re enjoying yourself and what you are sharing. I think you and me need to sit down and have a cup of tea sometime soon, as I am a little out of the loop when it comes to this special visitor… lol. Also I think you forgot that your “Aunt” also came back from vacation last week….😉Love ya Beena XO

  2. “Enjoy the little things in life that make you happy for one day you will look back and realize that they were the big things.” Spending time with you is always a happy time for me too. I loved hearing about some of your “happy times” last week and reading about your love for Disney movies brought back so many memories. Like your tiaras! 😀😀 I think I said I would read 10 books this year and I have now got 6 done. Keep on doing this Shelby. I think it is great. Love you more sweetie. 😘❤️❤️
