Holiday Traditions

Hey lovelies!

Traditions are sentimental, memorable and often an emotional part of the holidays. It’s special to create traditions over time with your family and it’s always exciting to look forward to them year after year.

What makes the holidays magical, are the traditions and experiences that I share with my family.

Here are a handful of some of my holiday family traditions as well as some inspiration for this year!


Rae Family Holiday Traditions

Donate to a local shelter.

Watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation as a family.

Have an annual Christmas baking day with Grandma.

Still to this day, every year I get an Advent calendar. Yummy!

Drive around town to check out all the Christmas lights.

My mom and I choose a night to wrap gifts while listening to festive music.

Take turns on Christmas Eve filling each others stockings.

Receive our annual Christmas ornament from Grandma & Papa.

Christmas morning, my Dad passes out the gifts as we all take turns opening.

Cinnamon roll breakfast on Christmas morning.

My cousins and I all wear an ugly Christmas sweater on Christmas day.

Christmas day after supper play “Unwrap the Gift.”

Ideas For Your Family & Friends

Buy an Elf on The Shelf!

Watch a holiday classic together.

Build a gingerbread house.

Donate.

Dress your furry friends in funny holiday attire.

Pick out/cut down a Christmas tree.

Wear matching pyjamas on Christmas Eve.

Snap a family picture by the tree.

Decorate the tree as a family.

Go sledding or build a snowman.

Have a countdown to Christmas.

Host a cookie exchange.

Hold a secret Santa exchange for the adults.

Sip hot cocoa & read a holiday classic.

Go on a family winter walk.

Camp out under the tree.


Focus on the meaning of Christmas. Spend lots of time with your loved ones and continue to make memories.
